Contenu du cours:

Led by an experienced doctor of physical therapy and canine rehabilitation professional, this is a comprehensive course in the science and art of neurology and neuro-rehabilitation and integration of facilitation techniques in small animal neuro-rehabilitation, orthopedic, and geriatric rehabilitation. Discussion, demonstration, and active participation in the application of novel and functional treatment approaches and techniques, as well as progression of the neuro-rehabilitation plan, enhances the learning environment and allows the clinician to immediately utilize this knowledge and skill in the clinic. Review of challenging cases and modern research is integral to the course.

Amie Lamoreaux Hesbach is a doctor of physical therapy, a certified canine rehabilitation therapist and practitioner, and a nationally-certified Pilates trainer. She owns EmpowerPhysio, providing comprehensive, forward-thinking, focused, and personalized solutions to mobility challenges for people, pets, pet parents, and animal physical therapy and rehabilitation professionals worldwide. Having worked with people and pets for over twenty years, she has merged the art and science of conventional physical therapy with innovative and intuitive approaches, giving people and pets more comfort, control, and confidence in movement. Amie has provided workshops and lectures in the United States, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom, focusing on biomechanics of therapeutic exercise, manual therapies, and neuro-rehabilitation techniques. Amie is a member of the International Association of Veterinary Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy and the former president of the Animal Rehabilitation Special Interest Group of the American Physical Therapy Association.
